After School Archery May 7, 2024

Calling all archers! This archery class is an opportunity for students of all ability levels to try something new! Proper techniques for stance, aim, and release are taught by trained instructors who utilize experiential learning and creative games to ensure that all archers grow in their abilities—and have fun!

Students can go straight to this program after school. All equipment provided.

Coney Island Kayak May 18, 2024

Explore the historical island of Lake Waconia guided by park staff! After instructors review the basics of kayaking, participants will make the 30-minute paddle out to the Island and disembark for nature walk while learning about the rich history of Coney Island of the West. Paddling is a strenuous activity and is not recommended for people with hip, back, or knee injuries. Previous paddling experience is encouraged but not required. All equipment is provided. In the case of storms or strong winds, the program will be rescheduled.

Adult Archery June 1, 2024

Channel your inner archer and become the next Robin Hood! In this beginner-level program, our instructors will cover the basics of equipment, safety and technique for participants with little or no prior archery experience. By the end of the session, you’ll be ready to split arrows…or at least pursue an archery hobby on your own! All equipment provided.

Waconia Adventure Camp June 4-6, 2024

If your child loves playing outdoors with other kids, then this camp is for them! Based out of the new Paradise Common’s building at Lake Waconia Regional Park, this camp is all about outdoor adventure and is stuffed with activities like archery, geocaching, outdoor cooking, paddling, swimming, beach play, group games and more! Additionally, for the JUNE session, the UofM Extension 4H will be providing STEM based activities each day. Packing and check in details will be emailed out before camp. In the case of storms, unhealthy air quality or extreme heat, the camp schedule may be altered.

Wassermann Adventure Camp June 18-20, 2024

Get outside and connected with other kids at Wassermann Adventure Camp! This 2 day camp will provide opportunities to try outdoor recreation activities like archery, campfire cooking, geocaching, slackline and more! This camp is focused on the outdoors, experiential adventure learning and all-around summer FUN!

Girls Archery Camp June 25-27, 2024

Does your daughter want to be an archer as famous as Katniss Everdeen, skillful as Artemis or just want to put Robin Hood in his place?  Then this camp is her place to train and make new archery friends!  Through fun games and experiential learning, participants will learn range safety and proper techniques for stance, aim, and release to improve their shot.  Campers will get the opportunity to shoot both compound and recurve bows at various target styles. All equipment is provided.

Intro to Fishing June 28, 2024

Intended for those looking to experience fishing for the first time or kids that just want to do some fishing with friends! This program will introduce skills like drop casting, overhead casting practice, hooking bait, setting hooks and removing fish as well as ethical fishing practices. All equipment provided.

Stand Up Paddle Board June 29, 2024

Hit the lake with this exciting adventure paddling sport! Born from Hawaiian surf culture, paddleboards can provide a fun method of exploring the lake. This program is designed for beginner-level paddlers. Instruction will start on land with brief water safety and technique tips, and then head out on the water! All necessary paddling equipment will be provided. Participants should come prepared to get wet.

Dad and Daughter Night Out June 30, 2024

Get outdoors with your daughter and have some fun together! This program includes an archery lesson for both dad’s and daughters with all the equipment provided and no experience needed. After archery, paddle around the waters of Lake Minnewashta in kayaks! In the case of strong winds, kayaking will be replaced with a geocaching treasure hunt. Please register each participant separately. All equipment is provided.

Biking Day Camp July 2, 2024

This travelling adventure camp starts at Veterans Park in Chaska, but won’t stay in one place! Bring your own bike, or use one provided, to tour around some nearby trails between exciting outdoor activities like archery, geocaching, slackline and swimming at Fireman’s Park! (Please indicate at registration if you will need a bike provided). Bikes and helmets available to use. Helmets required.

Paddle Camp July 16-18, 2024

There’s lots of ways to hit the lakes during a hot Minnesota summer, and this camp is for kids that want to try as many as possible! Cruise in a kayak, paddle your canoe, lounge on a paddle board, and conquer the Voyageur canoe. This 3 day mini-camp will teach water safety and paddling techniques for all these watercraft favorites. All equipment is provided.
