Get Green Carver County 4-H Open House October 5, 2021

September 20, 2021

Carver County 4H is hosting an Open House on Tuesday, October 5, 5:30 - 7:30pm at the Extension Office, 11360 Hwy 212 W, Cologne, MN.  The event, "Get Green," is a great opportunity to find out more about the 4H program and meet current members.

The ten clubs, led by youth officers and adult leaders, located around Carver County, serve as a home-base for a youth’s 4-H experience. Regular 4-H membership is for youth aged 9 - 19, but younger kids can join as Cloverbuds.  4-H project learning ranges from woodworking to aerospace, agronomy to child development, and llamas to rabbits. We have annual showcases for youth to display their talents in Performing Arts and Demonstrations, as well as participating in the Carver County and Minnesota State Fair.

4-H can be the place where these youth learn, lead and build meaningful connections with adults who believe in them. We can expand our program offerings and partnerships in ways that help more youth, along with their families, to find their place in 4-H.  4-H empowers young people to be true leaders. True leaders are young people with confidence. They know how to work well with others, can endure through challenges, and will stick to a job until it gets done. In 4-H, we believe true leaders aren’t born –they are grown.
