“Pumpkin Nights will transport you into an alternative Halloween universe. We’ve created these worlds to reignite the nostalgic spirit of Halloween for everyone who walks through the State Fair gates. From our mirrored space ship, Dracula’s Graveyard, to Scarecrow Row—it’s really a magical adventure for all ages!” said Chelsea Kasen, Pumpkin Nights event director.
In addition to the 12 interactive themed worlds, Pumpkin Nights will have UV bubbles, Halloween music, fall treats and interactive lights along the path. Traveling “Merchants of Fun” will be on the path selling everything glowing to light up the night even more. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed in their best costume to join in the fun;masks are permitted, but leave those props and weapons at home!

Pumpkin Nights is partnering with local Twin Cities charities and each night a different one will be featured. Attendees are encouraged to bring a carved pumpkin to add to the Community Carvings world. For every carved pumpkin brought to the festival, Pumpkin Nights will donate $5 to the highlighted charity. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds from Pumpkin Nights will be donated to each charity.

“We love Minnesota! The support we’ve received for The Color Run and Soul Pose in Twin Cities over the years has been immense, which is why we wanted to launch the first ever Pumpkin Nights at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds,” said Kasen. “Pumpkin Nights is the best of the best for Halloween fun and is our way of reciprocating the love to Minnesotans. We’re excited to see attendees’ reactions to our Picture Minnesota world—it’s crowning jewel is the Viking masthead, and also features installations inspired by Fairchild, the State Fair gopher, and other purely Minnesotan features.”

Halfway through the path, participants can stop to treat themselves to cider, hot chocolate and seasonal State Fair treats at the vendors’ area. They can also shop for a pumpkin at the pumpkin patch and purchase Pumpkin Nights merchandise. It’s a great place to take in what you’ve just experienced and gear up for more surprises and fun!
