After School Adventure Club April 15 - May 20, 2025

Here is your chance to get outside, be active, and burn off extra energy after longs days at school! The Afterschool Adventure Club is a 6-week series of outdoor adventures where activities may include disc golfing, fishing, geocaching, paddling, and more! Each week a different adventure will be chosen a few days in advance. We all know that Spring weather in Minnesota can be unpredictable, and that just adds to the fun! All equipment is provided.

Get outdoors with your daughter this spring and have some fun together! This program includes an archery lesson for both dads and daughters with all the equipment provided and no experience needed. After archery, explore the woods of Lake Minnewashta during a Geocaching Treasure Hunt! Please register each participant separately.

Mom and Me Fishing and Fun May 9, 2025

Mom and child get to fish together with an experienced Parks Educator guiding the fun. Learn to bait a hook, drop a line, and even touch a fish! A beginner archery lesson will round out the night of fun. Explore how to shoot a compound bow and have fun challenging each other to hit the target. All equipment is provided. Please register each participant separately.

Kayak 101 May 27, 2025

Get out on a beautiful Minnesota lake and learn the basics of flatwater kayaking with skilled instructors. Time will be spent on land exploring safety, how to fit a kayak, and proper paddling form before heading onto the water to focus on specific paddle strokes. All equipment including life jackets will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own life jacket if it is labeled “USCG Approved”.

Coney Island Kayak May 31, 2025

Explore the historical island of Lake Waconia guided by park staff! After instructors review the basics of kayaking, participants will make the 30-minute paddle out to the island and disembark for nature walk while learning about the rich history of Coney Island of the West. Paddling is a strenuous activity and is not recommended for people with hip, back, or knee injuries. Previous paddling experience is encouraged, but not required. All equipment is provided. In the case of storms or strong winds, the program will be rescheduled.

Waconia Adventure Camp June 4-6, 2025

If your child loves playing outdoors with other kids, then this camp is for them! Based out of the new Paradise Commons building at Lake Waconia Regional Park, this camp is all about outdoor adventure and is stuffed with activities like archery, geocaching, outdoor cooking, paddling, swimming, beach play, group games, and more! Additionally, at session 1, the U of M Extension 4H will be providing STEM based activities each day. Packing and check in details will be emailed out before camp. In the case of storms, unhealthy air quality, or extreme heat, the camp schedule may be altered.

Biking Day Camp June 17-18, 2025

This travelling adventure camp starts at Lions Park in Chaska, but won’t stay in one place! Bring your own bike and helmet, or use one provided, to tour around some nearby trails between exciting outdoor activities like archery, geocaching, slackline, and swimming at Fireman’s Park! Helmets are required.

Minnewashta Adventure Camp June 24-26, 2025

If your child loves playing outdoors with other kids, then this camp is for them! Based out of Lake Minnewashta Regional Park, this camp is all about outdoor adventure and is stuffed with activities like archery, geocaching, outdoor cooking, paddling, swimming, beach play, group games, and more! Additionally, at the June session, the U of M Extension 4H will be providing STEM based activities each day. Packing and check in details will be emailed out before camp. In the case of storms, unhealthy air quality, or extreme heat, the camp schedule may be altered.

This program is intended for those looking to experience fishing for the first time or kids that just want to do some fishing with friends! Instructors will introduce skills like drop casting, overhead casting practice, hooking bait, setting hooks, and removing fish as well as ethical fishing practices. All equipment is provided.

Family Archery - July 19, 2025

Parents and children learn together during this Beginner Level Archery Lesson. Carver County Parks Instructors will cover the basics of equipment, safety, and shooting techniques for all participants. Games and challenges may be introduced to help hone your skills and increase the level of fun. All equipment is provided. Everyone participating must be registered.

Adult Archery July 19, 2025

Channel your inner archer and become the next Robin Hood! In this beginner-level program, our instructors will cover the basics of equipment, safety and technique for participants with little or no prior archery experience. By the end of the session, you’ll be ready to split arrows…or at least pursue an archery hobby on your own! All equipment provided.

Born from Hawaiian surf culture, paddle boards can provide a fun method of exploring the lake. Instruction will start on land with brief water safety and technique tips and then the group will head out on the water for a tour of Lake Ann! All necessary paddling equipment will be provided and no previous experience required. Participants should dress for the potential to get wet.

Teen Archery Camp July 22-24, 2025

Get your teens outdoors this summer for our three-day Teen Archery Camp! Through fun games and experiential learning, our instructors will guide archers in fine-tuning their range safety and shooting techniques for hitting the target consistently. Archers will get the opportunity to shoot both compound and recurve bows at varying target styles. All necessary equipment is provided; personal equipment is welcome at the instructor’s discretion.

Teen Paddle Camp - July 22-24, 2025

There are lots of ways to hit the lakes during a hot Minnesota summer, and this camp is for teens who want to try as many as possible! Cruise in a kayak, paddle a canoe, lounge on a paddle board, and conquer the Voyageur canoe. This 3 day camp will teach water safety and paddling techniques for all these watercraft favorites. All equipment is provided.

Voyageur Excursion August 4, 2025

Inspired by the voyageurs of the 18th century who traveled northern Minnesota and Canada as part of the fur trade, this full day camp provides activities and experiences that reflect the adventurous lifestyle of Minnesota’s past. Embark on a paddle excursion to Coney Island in our unique Voyageur Canoe, learn to start a fire with a variety of tools, and then cook food over an open flame! In the case of high winds, this camp will stay on the mainland and more activities will be added.

Girls Archery Camp August 5-7, 2025

Does your daughter want to be an archer as famous as Katniss Everdeen, skillful as Artemis, or just want to put Robin Hood in his place? Then this camp is her place to train and make new archery friends! Through fun games and experiential learning, participants will learn range safety and proper techniques for stance, aim, and release to improve their shot. Campers will get the opportunity to shoot both compound and recurve bows at various target styles. All equipment is provided.

Tiny Anglers Fishing Camp August 5-7, 2025

Designed for the smaller fry, this camp is an introduction to fishing. Through games, crafts, and time dropping a line, participants will learn about the sport of fishing including types of fish, fish habitats, water quality, and more! All equipment is provided.
